Simple Solution: A single, on demand contact grenade variant that displays 6m Radius red bubble upon surface contact. Anyone inside bubble receives intensified red version of old repair tool animation. They are designed as area of denial tools, specifically for choke points and corners. However, the may be used for emergency defense of a group (see additional thoughts).
Time (seconds) is differentiating factor by item class. MLT / STD / ADV / PRO : 4 / 6 / 10 / 20
Additional thoughts: Bubble Grenades may protect the individual inside with an invulnerability field (that includes protection from Warbarge and Orbital Strikes) while rendering user blind until bubble drops or user leaves bubble. Beside faint red bubble glow, outside players can look into bubble without difficulty. I am hesitant about this addition because I am unsure how such a system would monkey with current hit detection between client and server placement of bubbles.
What are your thoughts and feedback.

Note: Users cannot attack out or attack into the bubble. Damage will be registered normally if combatants are inside bubble zone together, however, they will both be almost visually blind with tunnel vision.
Tac Net may still be able to function, but that's debatable.

@Oceltot Mortalis Yes, destroys existing equipment (friendly and enemy) in the 12 m contact diameter (via a polarization thing). New equipment can be actively deployed without drawback, except users in bubble will have difficultly seeing where to place objects in heavy red haze.
Here are some other thoughts. -They can be used to block missiles from null cannons, but AoE within bubble from missile blowback is instant clone termination. Point hackers must follow precise timing and work fast in order not to be turned into giblets. Tactically, missile block can be used defensively after point is hacked and in contested enemy state. Buy friendly MCC max 20 seconds of relief from cannon fire. -Miasma grenades cannot be restocked from nanohives and require the stronger power draw of a supply depot to replenish. Otherwise, 1 Miasma (limit carry 1) is also restocked upon clone termination. -Miasma bubbles cannot be prematurely deactivated.

Miasmas may also work as a possible defensive vehicle sticky mechanic. -Lobbed anywhere on the vehicle, Miasmas will create a bubble around the center of the vehicle wherein they cannot take damage nor fire offensive weapons from the vehicle. This may be key for hot zone deployment and extraction.

@Kuruld Sengar -Miasmas are not stocked from nanohives, only supply depots and upon new clone. -Players only carry one Miasma at a time. -Players cannot see out or shoot out, but outsider can clearly see into bubble. Cook flux, grenade or knives and briefly step inside and release or wait until bubble drops.

Is this a terrible idea? How could it be modified?

-I agree with you on it being a grenade (with a carry limit of 1).
-Preventing hacking within the bubble might also be problematic as well in the example of a min scout. The meta might favor fast hacks and when finished drop a miasma to lock down zone. Allowing hacking would still allow counterplay by being able to see into bubble before entrance and engage blinded targets inside.
-I think that point is fine, but it might be helpful to establish a mechanic that reduces haze intensity at the periphery and strengthen it at the center. This would assist players on finding their way out of bubbles.

Yeah, I'm for webs as well, but the Miasma grenade is listed on Dev tester server as "grenade [that] creates an impenetrable shroud that distorts suit optics and obscures sight." I am trying to work off ways to create that.
